① Install Remaster Mod

In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the steps to install the Remaster Mod.

Project Remaster is a high-quality enhancement mod for Battlefield 2142, designed to give this 15-year-old game a modern feel. It brings in high-resolution textures, realistic animations, and new weapons, all integrated into the game engine for a refreshed experience.

Project Remaster is developed and maintained by the Project Remaster Team. For support and the latest updates, you can join their Discord server.

Why Remaster Mod? What exactly does it offer?

The mod also includes a suite of troubleshooting and diagnostic tools, which are super helpful if you run into any issues. Plus, it comes with a built-in wiki packed with information on getting the game running, fixing video problems, crash solutions, and more. That’s why we highly recommend installing the mod—not just for the upgrades, but also for easy access to these valuable resources.

What mini-mods come with the Remaster v14 installation?

  1. Project_Remaster_v14 is the main mod. It contains the complete mod (textures, models, maps etc.) and will be used for hosting your multiplayer / singleplayer game.

  2. Project_Remaster_v14_offline is a mini-mod for offline singleplayer. • It works without an internet connection. • The customization screen will not work. • You have pre-defined soldier load-outs and kit load-outs with some fixed unlocks. • Loot dead bots' backpacks to use other load-outs.

  3. Project_Remaster_v14_vanilla_weapons is a mini-mod with all weapons and gadgets having their vanilla stats (damage, recoil, rate of fire, amount of ammo etc.). It also removes the new 4th primary rifles from the soldiers. Animations, however, stay the same as in the main mod.

Procedures

If you already have an older version of the mod installed, make sure to uninstall it first and delete any leftover files in the mod folder before installing the newer version.

  1. Download project_remaster_v14_setup_BETA13.exe from Downloads.

  2. Double-click the file to start the installer — it might take a moment for anything to appear. []

  3. When prompted by l, click Yes to allow the installer to make changes on your device.

  4. If Windows Defender SmartScreen shows Windows Protected Your PC, click More Info and then Run Anyway. If you don't see the option, then []

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions in the wizard to complete the installation.

    1. When prompted with Please select the language that the game should run in, it’s best to choose English language (HD Fonts).

    2. Double-check the installation path — if the installer doesn’t find your game folder automatically, make sure to set it to the correct location.

  6. Next, configure Remaster Launcher.

Downloads

Download the version you’d like to use — we recommend going with v14 BETA13 or v16. For v16 BETA, ask in Remaster Discord nicely.
