How do I get all unlocks?

When you use OpenSpy as your login service, you get access to all unlocks. This means you’ll have all unlocks available in Singleplayer and LAN, as long as you’re connected to the internet. To unlock everything in BFHQ, just join a Reclamation server once.

My game keeps crashing to Desktop. It doesn't even load to menu screen. How to fix this?

First, try deleting the Battlefield 2142 folder in your My Documents. This will clean up your profiles — including any faulty video or audio settings — and clear your shader cache.

You can also use the Clear Cache and Delete Profile function in BF2142 Hub or Remaster Launcher, which has a similar effect.

Next, try launching the game in windowed mode, and be sure to use a resolution and refresh rate that your monitor supports. For example, if your monitor doesn’t support 120Hz and you select it, the game may crash. You can easily adjust these settings using BF2142 Hub or Remaster Launcher.

If you’re launching the game with the vanilla BF2142 shortcut, check the Tweak Guide for instructions on setting launch parameters for windowed mode and a fixed resolution.

These steps often resolve crash issues, as many problems are related to video settings.

I keep getting kick out when joining Reclamation servers. How to fix this?

First, make sure you’re joining the server with a vanilla 2142 installation and that there aren’t any major modifications in your mods\bf2142 folder.

If you’re still having issues, try using the CD Key fix function in BF2142 Hub or Remaster Launcher, as CD key problems can sometimes cause connection issues.

How to change Field of View (FOV) in-game?

You can’t change the FOV (field of view) in-game, since BF2142 is an older title and doesn’t offer as many video settings as modern games.

Why BF2142 Unlocker is not working properly?

At the moment, it’s not possible to play the game using BF2142Unlocker.

A recent Windows update has broken the Unlocker, and there’s currently no known fix. While it may still work for a few people, most users — especially those on Windows 10 or 11 — will find that it doesn’t work anymore.
